- Canon warrants that, during the Warranty Period, the Product will, with normal use and service, be free from faulty parts, manufacture or workmanship. If a defect arises during the Warranty Period, Canon will, at its cost and option and subject to these terms and conditions, repair or replace the Product.
- The Warranty Period for:
- all projector and Network Video Solutions Hardware Products, excluding projector lamps, and standard Canon accessories is 24 months from the date of purchase;
- projector lamps, is 90 days from the date of purchase; and
- all other Products and their standard Canon accessories, is 12 months from the date of purchase (excludes Digital Multifunction Devices and Laser Fax products).
- Subject to paragraph 4, this warranty is valid only for Products that are purchased new and unused in Australia or New Zealand from Canon Australia Pty Ltd, Canon New Zealand Ltd or a reseller authorised by either of those companies. The Customer must provide the original proof of purchase from one those organisations to receive any services under this warranty.
- Canon offers an international warranty on non-digital Canon compact cameras, non-digital Canon SLR camera bodies, Canon lenses for all SLR cameras, Canon Speedlites and Canon photographic accessories only. If travelling overseas, the Customer may receive warranty service for those Products on these terms from members of the Canon Camera International Service Network. A list of those members is enclosed with the Product. The Customer must present this warranty card and the original proof of purchase to receive warranty service.
- This warranty only applies where a defect has arisen, wholly or substantially, as a result of faulty manufacture, parts or labour. The warranty does not apply where damage is caused by other factors, including without limitation:
- normal wear and tear;
- abuse, mishandling, accident or failure to follow operating instructions;
- leaking batteries, exposure to liquid or infiltration of foreign particles;
- servicing or modification of the Product other than by Canon Australia or Canon New Zealand, their authorised service agents or, in the case of a Product described in paragraph 4, another member of the Canon Camera International Service Network;
- use of the Product with unsuitable ink or toner;
- use of the Product with other accessories, attachments, product supplies, parts or devices (including batteries, tapes/cards, lenses and flash attachments) that do not conform to Canon specifications; or
- shipment or other transit.
- This warranty does not cover:
- the replacement of any consumables such as rollers, print heads, drums, lamps, film, ink and toner cartridges and paper;
- software included with scanners;
- the cost of transit of the Product to or from Canon;
- repair or replacement of any Product damaged during transit to or from Canon; or
- any loss or consequential damage incurred while the Product is being repaired.
- This warranty is to be read together with any liabilities that Canon Australia or Canon New Zealand may have under any statute.
- To the extent permitted by law, Canon Australia and Canon New Zealand exclude all representations, warranties, conditions and liabilities to the Customer in respect of the Product (including liability for negligence and liability for indirect or consequential loss or damage such as loss of tape/card, loss of images, loss of expenditure associated with the Product and loss of enjoyment). If an implied condition or warranty that cannot be excluded is breached, Canon Australia or Canon New Zealand, as the case may be, limits its liability, at its option, to repairing the Product, replacing the Product or paying for the cost of replacing the Product or of acquiring an equivalent product.
- Instructions for making a warranty claim are included in the enclosed materials. If the warranty claim is not accepted:
- Canon will inform the Customer;
- if requested to do so by the Customer Canon will repair the Product provided you pay the usual charges for such repair; and
- if applicable the Customer will be responsible for all costs associated with collection of the product from Canon.
Making a Warranty claim return to Canon for repair
The process for a warranty claim is as follows:
- You must inform Canon or a Canon Authorised Service Provider as soon as the warranty claim arises and provide a written description of the fault;
- You must send to Canon or a Canon Authorised Service Provider your original proof of purchase and your written description of the fault (including image samples and any other relevant material); and
- You must pay for all packing, freight and insurance costs for transit of the Product to and from Canon. If the warranty claim is accepted Canon will, at its cost, repair or replace any faulty parts or rectify any faulty workmanship. The product will be returned to you at your cost.
DOCUMENT SCANNERS*, FAXES** AND MICROGRAPHICS * 20ppm and over. Does not apply to DR-1210C Scanner (see below). ** Applies only to those models of laser faxes that can also be used as stand alone printers.
The process for a warranty claim is as follows:
- you must inform Canon or a Canon Authorised Service Provider as soon as the warranty claim arises and provide a written description of the fault; and
- you must provide to Canon or a Canon Authorised Service Provider your original proof of purchase and your written description of the fault (including image samples and any other relevant material).
If the warranty claim is accepted Canon will, at its cost, repair or replace any faulty parts or rectify any faulty workmanship. Where the Product is located:
- within a 50km radius of a Canon Direct Service Centre:
- warranty repairs will be carried out on-site by Canon or Canon authorised service agents; and
- Canon will use its best endeavours to carry out such repairs by the end of the day after Canon receives notice of the Warranty claim (except that this period shall not include weekends or public holidays).
- outside a 50km radius a fee will be charged for provision of on site warranty services.
DR-1210C SCANNER
The process for a warranty claim is as follows:
- you must inform Canon or a Canon Authorised Service Provider as soon as the warranty claim arises and provide a written description of the fault; and
- you must send to Canon or a Canon Authorised Service Provider your original proof of purchase and your written description of the fault (including image samples and any other relevant material).
- you must pay for all packing, freight and insurance costs for transit of the Product to and from Canon.
If the warranty claim is accepted Canon will, at its cost, repair or replace any faulty parts or rectify any faulty workmanship. The product will be returned to you at your cost.
PROJECTORS AND NETWORK VIDEO SOLUTIONS HARDWARE PRODUCTS
The process for a warranty claim is as follows:
- you must inform Canon or a Canon Authorised Service Provider as soon as the warranty claim arises and provide a written description of the fault;
- you must provide to Canon or a Canon Authorised Service Provider your original proof of purchase and your written description of the fault (including image samples and any other relevant material); and
- the Product will be collected by an authorised Canon courier service.
If the warranty claim is accepted Canon will, at its cost, repair or replace any faulty parts or rectify any faulty workmanship.
